When Mary Bailey suddenly went into Cardiogenic Shock, a condition in which your heart suddenly can’t pump enough blood to meet your body’s needs, her life flashed before her eyes.

Luckily, she was saved by TCAVI‘s Dr. Ilie Barb and his cardiovascular team, who performed a minimally-invasive procedure with the insertion of the world’s smallest heart pump. Fortunately for Mary, TCAVI is one of two sites in the state of Florida participating in a national heart initiative attempting to improve survival rates from 50% to 80%.
